What HVAC Rescue Pros is

HVAC Rescue Pros is a call-connection service for heating and cooling repair. When you call, we connect you by phone with an independent local heating and cooling company that serves your ZIP code. That company talks with you about the problem, quotes its own prices and schedules the visit with you directly.

We are not a contractor. We don't employ technicians and we don't do repairs. Our job is the connection: getting your call to a company that works in your area.

Independent heating and cooling companies in the network serve more than 13,000 ZIP codes across the United States. They handle furnaces, heat pumps, boilers and central air. Read more about furnace repair, heat pump repair, boiler repair and AC repair.

Why it exists

When the heat goes out, nobody wants to spend an hour on the phone. The house is getting colder, maybe there are kids or an older parent at home, and you don't know which company to call. So you start calling around. One number goes to voicemail, the next wants you to fill out a form, a third says someone will call you back.

HVAC Rescue Pros replaces that with one call. You share your ZIP code and a short description of the problem, and you are transferred to a local company that serves your area. You talk with them on the same call and decide for yourself what happens next.

It works the same way when the AC quits in a heat wave.

How we make money

You never pay HVAC Rescue Pros. Calling and being connected costs you nothing.

Participating home-service companies pay us for connected calls. We think you should know this up front, because it shapes what the service is: the companies you reach are the ones that take part in the network. They are not every heating company in your area, and being connected is not an endorsement.

Any price for a visit or a repair comes from the company you speak with, and you are always welcome to compare.

What we don't do

No repairs

We don't send technicians or work on your system. The independent company you speak with does the work and is responsible for it.

No prices

We don't set, quote or estimate prices. Ask the company how it charges and get the estimate in writing.

No payments

We never charge you anything. Any payment for a visit or a repair goes to the company that does the work.

No forms

There are no forms on this site and no waiting for a callback. You call, talk and decide.

No rankings

We don't rank or recommend individual companies. We also don't check licenses or insurance, so please verify the company yourself.

No appointments

We can't book, change or cancel appointments. Scheduling is between you and the company you were connected with.

To check out a company, ask for its license number and look it up with your state's contractor licensing board, ask for proof of insurance and get the estimate in writing. More on the how it works page.

Our commitments

  • Honest information. We explain what we are, how we are paid and what we can't do. Our pages describe common heating and cooling problems in plain terms, without scare tactics or big promises.
  • No pressure. A call never commits you to anything. Whether you book is your decision.
  • Safety information first. When a problem can be dangerous, like a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm, we say so plainly and tell you what to do before anything else.
  • Your data, handled as our policy says. Your phone number and call details are used to connect and route your call and for quality assurance, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Safety first: If you smell gas, don't touch light switches or appliances. Leave the house and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone out and call 911. Don't go back in until responders say it is safe.

About the information on this site

Our pages and guides explain how furnaces, heat pumps, boilers and air conditioners work, what common problems usually mean and which simple checks are safe for a homeowner. That is general information. It is not professional advice, and it can't replace a technician looking at your actual system.

The checks we suggest are limited on purpose: thermostat settings and batteries, the air filter, the breaker, the furnace power switch, and keeping vents and the outdoor unit clear. Anything past that, like gas valves, burners, wiring or refrigerant, belongs with a heating and cooling professional. A good place to start is the no-heat checklist or our guide on whether to repair or replace a furnace.
